Links

I'm really horrible about finding something interesting on the internet, making note of the link and then not doing anything with it. So as I clean out my inbox and bookmarks I'll just post them here.

Puppies behind bars
Evidently there is a program where in prisoners train dogs for the disabled.

Storage Drawers
In case you are considering building drawers on a carpenter's cart - this is a good resource.

Newsweek
Doing crunches is bad for you.

Marine Mammal Center
Opens on June 15.

Old Faithful
In case you once lived in Idaho but now live California, you can watch Old Faithful live with a new web cam. You can also watch soon-to-be-fired park workers pee into the active volcano.

Boxers
When you are fighting a war, it is good to not wear bright pink boxers.

Hiking in the Bay Area
This site is great for seeing details about hiking in the Bay Area.

Black Diamond Lines

A model railroad group near my home.

Epi-pens emerging
Interesting article.

OT Schools

For future reference.

Ok, so I guess I should stop being all blog stalker like I have been for about 8 months now. So here's a comment on your blog.

That "old faithful" thing is pretty funny. I love the pictures on the hiking site, I love hiking. It's amazing the medical breakthroughs and access we have to the items that save and protect us and our children. I also found the prison puppies.

~whew~

One of the hardest things I ever had to do was let you go on 50 mile WILDERNESS hike, but I remember you teaching every scout that went with you the sympoms of an alergenic reaction and how to use your EpiPen. I am sure some of them would have been scared to use it, but I think they all took it seriously.

I also remember you hiding it in your backpack because teh schools considered it a "weapon."

And the sad part about that wilderness hike wasn't the bees - it was the damn bear that ate 1/3 of our food the second night in including all of our candy and one canister of fuel. We struggled with bears that whole trip and I was very shocked Jeff C didn't shoot one.

I thought that picture was ironic. On the one hand you've got men at war - where they could die at any moment. On the other hand you've got boys (seriously young boys) in Afganistan when the guys they went to grade school at back in the states playing beer pong and living the "dangerous life" by driving over 85 MPH. And it hit me, I bet they try any thing to try to feel normal despite the serious abnormal position they find themselves in.
